A LESSON IN FIRE SAFETY

How long can you touch fire and not get burned? Greg decided to have the kids put their fingers in the flames to find out.
Unlike Jen, if you look on the Yancey blog, we don't take them to fire stations to teach them about fire safety. We just have them touch it, and give dynamite to young children.

Madeline was lucky enough to claim her uncle Kevin's American Idol ticket when he decided not to go. He was nice to let her go with her cousin, Campbell.
Austin even had a chance to go and gave it up so Maddi could go. How nice is that? She had so much fun! She made this cute sign. At the concert, she looked over and saw her Aunt Marci and her boys on the same row! One of her favorite parts was when some kids got up and played guitar hero on expert with the guitars behind their backs and kneeling down. Amazing!

MISTAKEN IDENTITY....

This is a snapshot taken at Justin's wedding just a couple of years ago. It's amazing that even in this short time, we can all change so much.

This is a picture of my family, taken about 25 years ago.
It's funny 'cause my 3 yr. old, Ty, was looking at it, and my mom asked if he knew where I was in it. He responded, "my mom's not in that, but Maddi is."

This is Bryan, Mindy, and me when I was about 2.

I am just a few months old here. Who knew I was going to grow up to be nuts. Aren't we all, just a little bit?

This is my baby sister Kristin, with her husband Aaron, and her daughter, Anna. She has another little girl on the way.

This is my sweet brother Jared, and his wife Lisa.

My older sister Mindy, with husband Kevin, and son Campbell.

My bro. Daren, with wife Jen. They have 2 kids (so far), Hendrix James, and Lilly.

My older brother Bryan, and new bride Margo. I am so happy for them. They just got married last month.

All of the grand kids had a sleepover, even though it was late. The only 2 missing are Hendrix and Anna.

See what you guys started? And you still look fabulous! I love you all.

What I wake up to most mornings....

Madeline is the only one that usually stays in her bed all night. This particular night Greg was out of town. Usually he's tangled up in the mix. I took this picture at 4am. I was standing on the end of the bed, and almost lost my balance and fell.

BBQ at the Hunts

Last weekend we got to go to Grandma and Grandpa Hunt's house for a swim/BBQ/cousin camp. The kids and adults have so much fun 'cause we just chill and talk while the kids have a great time running around together. It was perfect weather, not too hot, and great company.

Get those guns ready boys!
It's on.
Maddi doesn't have a problem joining in on the action, even though she's the only girl.(Lauren's usually hangin' with the adults.)
Who needs a pool when you have slide like this? No drowning scare!
I love having these cute little ones around. Kody and Halle are so sweet. I love their chubby rolls. Too cute!

Lauren blowing bubbles at Kody. You're not supposed to blow them right at his face are you?
Apparently we don't eat hot dogs often enough. My kids seem to think they're consumed like a hamburger.

I love how Cam looks at Maddi and Collin. It's so cute how he looks up to the older kids.
Uptight Greg. Nervous about body odor.

Thanks, Richard for cooking the burgers, setting up the water stuff, and tying those water balloons. It was a blast.

RUNNER'S HIGH...

One night Austin decided to start running in circles around the couch because he was bored. He started counting, and pretty soon, he felt that
"runner's high", anyone who works out will know what I mean. He didn't want to stop!
He ran,

and ran. Even Ty tried to join in.
They ran,
and ran. Ty gave up, but Austin kept going until he had counted to over 2000!
He's a bit dizzy and worn out. Good workout Aus!

THE DENTIST...

Yesterday I took the kids to the dentist we do trade with. He has always been our dentist, and we love his office and entire staff. It is worth the drive from Park City to American Fork for their great services.
In this picture the kids are amazed as they watch Austin get a panoramic picture taken of his teeth.

Madeline is getting her teeth cleaned and being educated on having good oral hygiene.
Gorgeous!
No cavities for Lauren. Everyone was very impressed with her pretty teeth.
Then there was Ty. I didn't have an appt. for him, but they fit him in anyway. I didn't think he would cooperate. Um, I was wrong. He climbed right on to the big purple chair, with his eyes closed and his mouth open, ready to be worked on.

comfy Ty?
"oh yes, I am."
Cleaning,
flossing,
fluoride,
and five for Dr. Pitts.

The Pitts' crew were absolutely amazed. I've got 4 kids, 0 cavities. Yes! Ty did have one 2 yr. molar with no enamel on it. We need to go get that fixed. Good thing I took him in!

HIKING UP TO TIMPANOGOS CAVE

THE FAMILY WENT ON ANOTHER HIKE UP TO TIMPANOGOS CAVE. IT WAS TRULY A VERY UPHILL HIKE. TIRING(ESPECIALLY CARRYING A COOLER AND A 3 YEAR OLD! LAUREN WAS SO TOUGH. SHE HIKED THE ENTIRE WAY WITHOUT BEING CARRIED ONE TIME. WHAT A TROOPER! IT REALLY SCARED ME THAT ALL IT TOOK WAS ONE MISSTEP, AND A CHILD WOULD BE FALLING OFF OF A CLIFF. THE KIDS WOULD BE RUNNING DOWN THE PATH, AND MAKE A SHARP TURN, I WOULD YELL TO "GET NEAR THE WALL"! I WAS CONSTANTLY PUSHING TY AWAY FROM THE EDGE. I GUESS A CHILD DIED JUST LAST YEAR FROM FALLING.
IT WAS REALLY SO SO FUN THOUGH. THE VIEWS WERE TRULY MAGNIFICENT. THE CAVE WAS COOL, DAMP, AND DARK. IT WAS REALLY A WONDROUS THING. OUR TOUR GUIDE WAS FUN AND HAD TRUE PASSION FOR THE CAVE. OF COURSE MADDI LOVED FINDING AN INCH WORM, AND FEEDING A CHIPMUNK. MINDY AND CAMPBELL WERE PATIENT TO WAIT FOR US TO ARRIVE, WE COULDN'T GO UNTIL THE AFTERNOON, BUT IT ALL WORKED OUT REALLY WELL. WE'RE GOING TO MISS THESE MOUNTAINS. I'M GLAD WE'RE ENJOYING THEM NOW THOUGH!
